Hi there. So now summer is in full swing - the kids are out of school; you're taking time off for the family trip; sprinklers, swimming pools, and tall glasses of cold drinks are being employed for cooling purposes; family reunions, picnics, muggy afternoon thunderstorms - yes, it's summertime. At the end of the week I'll be headed to Dallas, TX (no, it's not the biggest vacation spot in the US) for a convention, and as always I'll be exploring the city's must-sees. Every city has them, and since I am often asked "what's there to see in [insert random city here]?", I like to explore when I am in said random cities.

This week's infotainment-ezine-ogram is about special pricing available now for trips you should be planning: Christmas Market river cruises, New Year cruises, and specials for risk-takers.

CHRISTMAS MARKETS: Europe’s Danube and Rhine rivers give way to timeless Christmas Markets in such fairytale cities as Vienna, Nuremberg and Strasbourg.  Deck the halls for a festive winter wonderland this year as you sip hot chocolate, double down on gingerbread of all yummy shapes and sizes, sing delightful new and classic yuletide holiday staples, and find some tinsel-tastic decorations to string around your tree. TRIPLE savings are available for a limited time on AmaWaterways, plus perks like a complimentary stateroom upgrade as well as a $50 per person onboard credit to use however you wish; so reach out to me for these super savings. I encourage you to book by August 1 for the best stateroom availability.

NEW YEAR'S EVE EXPERIENCE: Would you like to up the status of your usual New Year's countdown? Try a river cruise! "Again, with the cruises?" you say.  Well, this is where the specials are currently, plus cruising offers the benefit of hitting several cities in different countries without packing/unpacking, lugging the suitcases, or stopping for gas and bathroom breaks.  Then there's wine, food, sights, tours, and more, and more, and more. Countdown to 2020 in one of many wonderful ways: go into town to see how the locals 'watch the ball drop', or dress up and attend an exclusive, complimentary New Year’s Eve gala, the choice is yours. Plus, if your ship docks in a vibrant city like Vienna or Linz, grab a glass of champagne and head up to the ship's sun deck where a warm blanket awaits as you’re treated to front-row views of exciting fireworks shows.

RISK TAKERS: If you want a Caribbean or Mexican getaway and don't mind rolling the dice, the Atlantic hurricane season brings reduced cost stays in these destinations, and I mean REALLY reduced...like $29 per day, per person. Pick up the phone. Call me.

Relaxing by pool
Lots of hot deals to take advantage of while you stay cool.

'til next week.
